Nocturne Series announce charity partners

19/05/09

The Nocturne Series is pleased to announce series charity partnerships with Right to Play, and the continuation of the Smithfield Nocturne partnership with the Lord Mayor's Appeal.

Right to Play volunteers will have a presence throughout the Nocturne Series and will be distributing free official event programmes to spectators, they ask for a voluntary contribution to assist their specially designed sport and play programmes to improve health, build life skills, and foster peace for children and communities affected by war, poverty and disease in more than 20 countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. The partnership with the Nocturne Series is in addition to existing partnerships with Chelsea Football Club and Team Columbia.

Last year, Face Partnership raised £2,000 for the Lord Mayor's appeal from the Smithfield Nocturne event. This year, the continuation of the event charity partnership will help the chosen Lord Mayor's charities, St John's Ambulance and The Lord's Taverners continue their incredible work around the country.

St John Ambulance have pledged that they will install, support and train people to use 1,000 new defibrillators in the City of London, Canary Wharf and parts of Tower Hamlets, as a result of the money they will receive from this Lord Mayor’s Appeal. The Lord’s Taverners do some amazing work in giving disadvantaged young people a ‘sporting chance’. They fund specially adapted minibuses to transport young disabled children and provide specially adapted sporting equipment to ensure that all youngsters can take part in sporting activities.
